- preparing the race route including the start/finish areas;

- acting as race marshals along the race-route;

Two PDF files of the final results have been generated, the first one sorted by finish (gross) time (and from which official results and prize-winners are calculated) and a second one sorted by chip (nett) time for information purposes only. A final list of individual category and team prize-winners is presented in the third attachment. The Kearney’s Cycles Streets of Galway Organizing Committee wants to thank you all those people who volunteered their time to ensure that this year’s race was a great success. We estimate that up to 200 people helped us on August 9 and August 10 including 80 people who volunteered as race marshalls, over 40 people who helped to distribute at the 5K mark and at the finish, and 30 people who helped us to distribute the race packs in a timely and efficient manner.

My brother Paul had visited the States for the first time that summer. He was flying back home and as I needed to fly home to get a visa to go to graduate school, I surprised him by being on the same flight!
