What is Fit4Life?

4th Annual Mayo 5k Series

The 4th Annual Mayo AC 5k Series of five races starts Tuesday evening 18th June and continues onon for the following four Tuesdays, all at 8pm sharp.

June 18: Castlebar, Registration at Harlequin Hotel
June 25: Claremorris…Athletic Track
July 2: Ballinrobe…Soccer pitch
July 9: Brickens..Community Centre (between Claremorris/Ballyhaunis)
July 16: Ballyhaunis...Rugby Club, followed by Series After Party.

Results of Galway 5k Series - Tuam Leg

Congrats to Peter O’Sullivan (Loughrea AC) who was first home in the Men’s Race in a fantastic time of 15:46 followed by Owen Byrne (Galway City Harriers) with a PB of in 16:06 with Patrick O’Toole (Mayo AC) coming 3rd in 16:45.

Taking first place again in the Ladies Race was Regina Casey of GCH in 18:33, followed in 2nd place by Sinead Foran (Athenry AC) in 19:17 and Ruthann Sheehan in 3rd place in 19:30.

Well done to everyone who took part and a special thanks to Tuam AC for organising the last race of the series.

Galway 5K Series - Ballybrit Results

John Greaney Winner 5K Ballybrit

Galway City Harriers hosted this week’s leg of the Galway 5K Series which took place on Tuesday 28th May.

A huge congrats to John Greaney (Galway City Harriers) who was first home in the Men’s Race with a PB of 16:28, followed by John Lane (Craughwell AC) in 17:04 with Lyall Guiney (Athenry AC) coming 3rd in 17:29.

Taking first place again in the Ladies Race was Regina Casey of GCH in 19:14. Ruthann Sheahan (Athenry AC) came in second place in 19:55, followed by Jane-Ann Healy (Athenry AC) in 3rd place in 20:09.

Galway 5K Series - Craughwell Results

Owne Byrne Craughwell 5K

Galway City Harriers had 67 participants in the Craughwell leg of the 5k Series on Tuesday 21st May.

First home for the Men’s Race was Owen Byrne (Galway City Harriers) with a PB of 16:09, followed by Timmie Glavey (Mayo AC) in 16:26 with GCH’s Billy King coming 3rd in 16:32.

First place in the Ladies Race was Regina Casey of GCH in 18:29, Sinead Foran (Athenry AC) came in second place in 19:28, followed by Jane-Ann Healy (Athenry AC)in 3rd place in 19:35.

Galway 5k Series - Loughrea Results

42 participants from GCH took part in the Loughrea leg of the 5k Series on Tuesday 14th May.

First home for the Men’s Race was Peter O’Sullivan (Loughrea AC) in 16:25, followed by Timmie Glavey (Mayo AC) in 17:02 and GCH’s Billy King in 3rd in 17:11.

The Athenry Ladies achieved all top 3 places in Ladies Race with Sinead Foran in first place in 19:36, followed by Margaret Flannery in 19:43 and Jane-Ann Healy in 20.09.

5K Series - Galway Venue Announced

5k Series Map
GCH host our leg of the 2013 Galway 5k Series on Tuesday May 28 th at 8pm with a new venue of the Galway Racecourse.

There will be ample parking on the night –please use the Avenue Entrance to the Racecourse (Parkmore end) and follow the road all the way up and around to the large car park behind the Mayor’s Garden, following the instructions of any parking stewards on duty. The course itself is relatively straight forward.

Galway 5k Series 2013 - Claregalway Results

The 2nd leg of the Galway 5K Series was held last night, Tuesday 7th May in Claregalway with 64 participants taking part from the Galway City Harriers.

Congrats to Billy King who came 2nd in the Men’s Race in 16:57 and Regina Casey of GCH who was the 1st lady home in 18:48

Galway 5k Series 2013 - Athenry Results

The Galway 5K Series kicked off last week on Tuesday 30th April in Athenry.

Galway City Harriers have 85 participants registered for the race and of that 76 took part in the Athenry Leg.
With the new fast course, there were new lots of new PB’s to kick start the series.

Congrats to Owen Byre of GCH who came 1st in the Men’s Race in 16:34 and Billy King of GCH who followed closely in 3rd in 16:43.
