Do you want to get fit?
Do you want to go out and jog a few miles?
Do you want someone to give advice and guidance?
Maybe you just want a bit of company and a bit of craic as you run?
Whatever your reasons Fit4Life is here to help you.
What is Fit4Life?
Fit4Life will take a well-deserved break for Christmas, finishing on Thursday night December 19th.
It will resume on Monday 6th January at 7pm at Westside Library and continues thereafter every Monday and Thursday night (except for Bank Holiday Mondays when we do not meet)
Please note on the 6th January current members will move up a group (only if they wish to do so and are able for a slightly faster pace).
So you can make your progression one of your New Year’s resolutions!
All Ireland Novice Cross Country Championships - GCH teams required!

This is one of the best and most enjoyable races on the calendar, and gets a range of club athletes competing from all over the country, and is a great entry point to National cross country competition.
GCH can enter club teams, with 8 to run and 4 to score, in both Mens and Womens races
GCH athletes will also be considered for selection for the Galway County teams for the event .
Here's the updated Club Challenge Tables after the National Inter-Counties XC.
Highlights of the movers and shakers after the latest round………..
Jane Walsh has pushed to the top of the women's challenge thanks to her exploits in tracking down Fionnuala Britton in the National Inter-counties and by doing so it looks like it a two horse race between herself and Mags Sheridan.
A new entrant to the table is Nicola Duncan after an incredible run to 13th in the national Inter-Counties with the elite of Irish running.
Well done to all the Fit4Life group who took part in this year’s Newcastle Fit4Life 5K with a whopping 55 participants taking part this year from the Galway City Harriers.
First GCH Fit4Life athlete home was Kate Cunningham in 26:44 doing it for the ladies and for the men was Gearoid Barry in 27:59.
Thanks to Bernie Kelly for organising the GCH Fit4Life group and overseeing the trip (including lifts) to Athenry, making it a really enjoyable day out for everyone.
Last minute instructions regarding the Newcastle 5k this Saturday.
Everyone should try and do the 5K regardless if you haven't trained regularly or not over the last few weeks.
There are no shower facilities in Newcastle, but there will be a very warm welcome for everyone.
Bring a change of clothes and shoes and baby wipes or a flannel to wash off the hard earned sweat.
Race starts at 12 noon
We will carpool from Westside Library. If you don't have a car, no worries just turn up and Bernie will sort everyone out with a lift.
Results of the GCH Club Challenge after Round 8.
It's heating up in the race for the women's title with Mags, Majella, Jane and Regina all still in contention…..exciting stuff with just 2 more rounds to go!!
In the Men’s race, 2nd place which is still up for grabs, with Bru in typical fashion putting in a late surge which could clinch the runner's up spot.
Watch this space, The Athenry 10k could see some road kill left behind in a last dash for titles…………
Huge congratulations to all who took part in the Connaught Cross Country on 3rd November in Roscommon.
