Photos from Craughwell fit4life 5km feb09
Submitted by beep beep on Tue, 2009-02-24 18:20.On a lovely crisp Feb morning several members of GCH fit4life hit the country roads around Craughwell for the third 5km time trial. As usual organisation was spot on, lots of water and pacers for every level. So a big thanks to Craughwell AC! I must be jinked as this was the second 5km I have missed due to injury so rather than being a lazy sausage with the Sunday paper I said I would head out and take some photos.
So here you go.

Submitted by seamusc on Thu, 2009-02-12 22:58.
Sunday 20th September 2009 may seem a long way away right now, but for some club members, it won't be long before that day dawns bright and early for them and they toe the line in Berlin to compete in their first marathon. Joe, Nicola and Don among others, who are familiar faces in GCH and Fit4Life, will be among the huge crowd who will be pounding the streets that day in the capital city of the former east Germany, and to this end, they are now actively fund-raising for their chosen charity "Western Alzheimers", who will be the beneficiaries of their efforts.

From The Couch To Kilmurry - A Beginner's Story
Submitted by beep beep on Tue, 2008-12-16 15:56.
They are a strange breed these runners. We’ve all seen them, usually while sitting in traffic listening to the whirr of the window wipers and waiting for the car’s central heating to kick in. You are in the middle of wondering if you’ll stay awake long enough for the second episode of Corrie that evening, when a flock of high viz jackets and running tights pass you by. You shiver involuntarily at the thoughts of trotting around Westside on a dark Tuesday evening and wonder what these poor souls have done to deserve such a punishment.

On A Clare Day...
Submitted by seamusc on Sun, 2008-12-14 21:24.
...you can see forever apparently and indeed, despite it being just seven days from the shortest day of the year, it was easy to believe this saying such were the blue skies and bright sunshine that greeted the GCH/Fit4Life troops as we descended on Kilmurry-McMahon earlier today for the local St Mary's Athletic Club annual running of the Bernie Meaney memorial 5K road-race.
