Our Fit 4 Life Adult training programme
Loughrea hosted the second event for the Galway 5k series tonight. The weather conditions (albeit improved on last year) was not as favourable this week with a dull breezy evening to contest against, not to mention a "nice" incline just before 3k!!
Numbers were slightly down on last week but even so 640 participants took to the roads surrounding Loughrea in a multitude of colours to brighten up the dull evening.
The Loughrea route is a little more difficult than last week but none the less many runners improved their times or kept them fairly even.

Best of luck everyone!!
What a glorious evening for the Galway 5k series to begin with …………long may this weather continue!!
As always, the first of the 6 events saw the happy crowds (700 no less|) come out in force with their club crests and a multitude of electric colours on show. Excitement all around as some lined up at the race line in anticipation of a new PB, while for some it was their first time at a race line.
The Athenry route was improved on again this year in favour of better race times and this was evident as the competition was high!
About the race series
