Collection of books on running and running related matters

With the increase in interest in running in the last year as seen in the increased numbers taking part in road races throughout the county, Galway City Library Service has put together a collection of books on running, runners and related matters such as injury prevention, nutrition for athletes, marathon training etc. This collection is located in Ballybane Library on Castlepark Road in Ballybane. Among the 80 books in the collection are "How running changed my life:true stories of the power of running" by Garth Battista, "Brain training for runners:a revolutionary new training system to improve endurance, speed, health and results" by Matt Fitzgerald and "I run, therefore I am....nuts" by Bob Schwartz.

Ballybane Library is open Tue to Sat 11-1 and 2-5. Feel free to come in and browse through the collection at your leisure.It costs nothing. If you wish to borrow a book you will need to register as a library member. To do this, simply fill out an application card and furnish photo ID and proof of address. The membership rate for working adults is €5 per annum and unwaged is €2. As simple and easy as that.

Why not bring the children along too. There is an amazing children's section with all the latest books and games and toys to play with. Membership is free for children if they wish to join and borrow some books.
