Eddie Costello, Brendan Glynn and Joe O'Donnell won gold in the 3x800m today at the National Indoor Relays. All three ran good legs finishing in a total time of 6.27.7 and held off Limerick and a fast finishing Liam Reale to claim gold, with Liffey Valley in third. The lads even made the AAI website and our picture is courtesy of Athletics Ireland.

Sean Breathnach and Eanna O'Cathain also combined to win gold - in the 56 lbs for distance. They won with 13.74 from North Laois AC and Fr. Murphy's. It was a popular event with eight clubs contesting the championship. The two again combined successfully in the Shot Putt, winning with 28.11 from Farranfore Maine Valley and Brow Rangers.

Sean was also 2nd in the Men's 56lbs Senior Championship which was also held today. It was a very close competition with Sean just losing out to North Laois's Seamus Fitzpatrick with 7.77 and 7.74 respectively.
