Juvenile Membership

The membership year is from 1st Jan-31st Dec. The following are the fees:

  • 1st family member €30 (euros)
  • additional family member €20

All-Ireland Juvenile Indoors Timetable

Attached is the timetable for the Athletic Association of Ireland Juvenile Indoors 2010. The weekends of competitions are 27th-28th March and 10th-11th April.

Alanna is Tribune Sports Star of The Week

CT26022012Alanna Lally rounded off a brilliant few weeks by winning the Tribune's Sports Star of the Week award.

Big Win for Alanna

Alanna Lally won the national under 15 girls cross-country title in Lough Key Forest Park. She is now the proud holder of both the under 14 & under 15 National titles. Alanna had a busy time in the last ten days capturing the Connacht secondary school's cross-country minor title, the Connacht indoor 60m & 800m titles & the U15 all-Ireland title. She also led the Connaught team to silver medals on Sunday.

Medals Galore for GCH - Connacht Indoors Report

Galway City Harriers Juveniles dominated the first day of The Connaught Indoor Track & Field Championships held in Nenagh on 14th February. The Club won 25 Gold, 23 silver & 16 bronze medals. There were many fine performances throughout the day with quite a few double gold medal winners.

Juvenile Notice For Sunday 14th February

There will be no G.C.H juvenile training in Dangan on Sunday 14th February due to the Connuaght Indoors taking place in Nenagh.

A bus will leave the car park in Dangan at 8.00am sharp, collecting at the bus stop across from Dunnes Stores Headford Rd at 8.10am & the Oranmore Community Centre at 8.20am.
Bus fare €10.

GCH At Multi-Event Indoors

Galway City Harriers had 3 athletes competing in the National Juvenile Indoor Multi Events in Nenagh on Saturday 30th January and came home with a 2nd place, a 3rd place & a 4th place.
Laura Ann Costello was competing in her first Multi event competition and finished a very creditable 3rd to claim the bronze medal in the under 14 girls competition..

GCH In Action From Nenagh to Athenry

A large number of the club are in action competing and taking part in events this weekend. Nenagh is hosting the National Combined Events and Relays Championships Saturday and Sunday.

Three of GCH's top T&F athletes Sean Breathnach, Eanna O'Cathain and Cliff Jennings are competing. Sean and Eanna are combining for the 2x56lbs and the 2xShot. Cliff is on tomorrow in the 60m, LJ, HJ and Shot.

Bright Start to Indoor Season for GCH

Galway City Harrier athletes had a bright start to the indoor season this weekend.

All-Ireland Junior indoors:
Eanna O'Cathain had a double winning performance. He won the 35lb for distance with a throw of 8m.30cm and finished 2nd in the shot with a throw of 13m.33cm.
Keith Fallon had a great indoor personal best of 2min 01.4 seconds in the 800m to claim silver. Keith who will not turn 17 until April has two more years to compete as a junior.
Leona McGuire finished 4th in the 200m with a time of 27.10 seconds.
