Galway City Harrier athletes had a bright start to the indoor season this weekend.

All-Ireland Junior indoors:
Eanna O'Cathain had a double winning performance. He won the 35lb for distance with a throw of 8m.30cm and finished 2nd in the shot with a throw of 13m.33cm.
Keith Fallon had a great indoor personal best of 2min 01.4 seconds in the 800m to claim silver. Keith who will not turn 17 until April has two more years to compete as a junior.
Leona McGuire finished 4th in the 200m with a time of 27.10 seconds.
Ronan Kelly competed for the first time with the club and ran a very respectable 24.61 seconds in the 200m.
Simon Callaghan finished 5th in the long jump with a 6.00m jump. Ronan and Simon are, like Keith, just 16 years old.

AAI Games:
Sean Breathnach won the men's shot in a fine throw of 15.89. Sean also coaches Eanna O'Cathain.
Joseph O'Donnell, Brendan Glynn and Derek Murray all competed well in the 1000m.

Might be worth mentioning that Keith won Silver in the Juniors with a time of 2:01:04H. Excellent results everyone!

I've updated the story with our inadvertent omission - well done again to Keith and all the GCH Juniors!
