FUTUR€ Streets Of Galway 2009 - Race-Pack Collection Details

SOG-FUTUR€-2009At this point, all entrants for the Streets of Galway 8K road-race for 2009 who registered either online (via Run Ireland) or by way of a postal entry with a valid e-mail address, should have received a personalised e-mail detailing their unique race-number and race-pack collection details.

Please read the information therein carefully, print-out a copy of the e-mail and present it for race-pack collection as detailed below.

It has been noted that some entrants were registered in their own name but against an alternative e-mail address. In these cases, you should contact the person who reads the e-mail account referenced to obtain your race-details. Unfortunately, we cannot be held responsible for e-mail addresses (or other registration details) that were entered incorrectly at source when you registered for the race.

If you have not yet received an e-mail notification, and you did supply an e-mail address with your entry, please contact streetsofgalway@gmail.com and we will investigate.

The notes attached to the e-mail broadcast referred to above are also included below as a reminder.

Finally, we in GCH would again like to thank you for entering the 24th running of our 8K road-race and would like to wish you a safe, enjoyable and ultimately successful run on the evening of the 8th August next.

Yours in running,
SOG 2009 Organising Committee

We in Galway City Harriers would like to thank you for entering the Streets of Galway 8K road-race for 2009, sponsored by local financial services company, FUTUR€ Wealth & Protection. Please read the following information carefully:

Race-Pack Collection Details

  • When: Friday August 7th (3pm - 7pm) or Saturday August 8th (11am – 5:30pm)
  • Where: FUTUR€ Office, Number 5, Merchant's Road (off Eyre Square), Galway
  • What: Race-number (bib), timing chip and souvenir t-shirt

Race Start

  • Please note that the race starts at 7pm sharp again this year, beginning at the Claddagh Hall, Southpark, Galway – see the following course map for full route details.
  • You should be in attendance at least 45 minutes in advance of the race-start for warm-up, stretching, etc.
  • Give yourself plenty of time to arrive at the start line as due to the large numbers, you will miss the start if you leave it to the last minute.
  • There will be no parking at the start/finish area so please avail of the many city-centre car-parks or on-street parking in the nearby vicinity.
  • As the race starts and finishes in a residential area, we would ask that you respect the local environs by not obstructing access to private residences and to use litter bins to dispose of all rubbish.
  • As a mark of courtesy to your fellow runners, we would ask that walkers/joggers/slower runners should place themselves towards the back of the field. For all runners, please note that your timing chip will record your actual time and any delays after the gun start will not take from your finishing time.
  • Your race number and timing chip have been specifically allocated to you - please do not exchange it with anybody else.

Race Safety

  • For the safety of all, headphones, music players, buggies or pets are not permitted on the race route.
  • Please obey the instructions of the Gardaí and race-officials at all times.
  • Do not leave car-keys, mobile phones, wallets or other valuables in the changing rooms.

Race Finish

  • Please keep moving at the finishing line and through the finishing chute to facilitate runners coming in directly after you.
  • You must have your timing chip to get an official finishing time (we recommend that you tie your timing chip securely into your shoe-laces).
  • Changing/shower facilities will be available at the finish area in the Fr. Griffin's club-house.
  • Presentation of race-prizes will take place at approximately 8:30pm at the finish area. Refreshments will be available.
  • Full race-results will be available via http://www.galwaycityharriers.com in the week after the race.
