Our friends at Athenry AC are again exercising their extraordinary race management skills later this month by hosting the National 10km Championships on April 20th.

This race attracts the best club racers from around the country. But like almost every road race in the country these days there is a wide participation from all sections of the running community including Masters and occasional runners. This year Athenry AC are extending a particular welcome to participants in the various Fit 4 Life initiatives around the county and country.

The Athenry course is fast and will follow much the same route as the Fields of Athenry 10k. The 2007 Fields race was won in 30:02 by our own Gary Thornton, but you don't need to go that fast to enter.
