G.C.H. National Juvenile Indoor Success

Relay Prize Galway City Harrier athletes sparkled at the National Juvenile Indoor Championships in Nenagh last weekend. The Club won 5 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals and the relay teams had a superb weekend.

Rachel Shaw won gold in the U.16 girls 800m and silver in the 1500m. Sarah Connolly won gold in the U.19 girls 800m while Julianne Harrington won bronze in the U.19 girls 400m. In the boys events Colm Hughes won gold in the U.12 600m while Simon O’Shaughnessy won silver in the U.12 60m. Eanna O’Cathain won silver in the U.17 shot.

The U.13 boys relay team consisting of Colm Hughes, Eamonn Brannigan, Ciaran Gaffney, Simon O’Shaughnessy & Jack Walsh won gold. The U.17 girls team of Aedin Esslemont, Anna Shelton, Rachel Allen & Rachel Shaw also won gold.

The U.12 boys team of Colm Hughes, Mark Rohan, Thomas Donovan, Simon O’Shaughnessy and Eoin Lally won silver. The U.14 girls team of Ailbhe Goulding, Georgina Healy, Ruth O’Sullivan and Deirdre Lally won bronze. The U.16 girls team of Rachel Shaw, Niamh Walsh, Eimear Hanahoe and Rachel Allen also won bronze. The U.18 girls team of Caoimhe Daniels, Jennifer O’Donnell, Anna Shelton and Aedin Esslemont rounded off the day with another bronze medal.
