GCH's Wednesday and Saturday Sessions
[acidfree:3282 size=100 align=right title=""]After the conclusion of the highly successful 5km series we will hopefully see athletes returning to the mid-week sessions at the track. The Wednesday session will continue to cater for anyone wishing to develop their speed and endurance. For anyone who has not been before and is thinking about giving it a go, the session starts at 5.45 pm so aim to have your warm-up jog completed for then.
During the 5km series a Saturday morning session was introduced and proved popular so we will aim to continue both sessions through the summer. For the Saturday session we have tended to utilize the excellent surface provided by the pitches and trails around Dangan so we will meet beside the changing rooms for a 10 am start. Saturday’s sessions will tend to based around longer reps and threshold running designed to further develop endurance. It’s notable that some of the ‘ever presents’ at the sessions have seen their endeavors rewarded with PBs over the past couple of months. This is evidence of the benefits of getting groups together to train hard, so get yourself down to the sessions and hopefully we will see many more PBs rewritten over the summer!
