1. How long (in years!) have you been running regularly?
2 years this month (January).

2. Why did you start running?
To accompany a friend who wanted to start Fit4Life.

3. What inspires you to keep on running?
Fresh air, freedom, and the afterglow of well-being!

4. What is the best piece of running advice you can offer?
Enjoy each run as an end in itself. Don’t forget to take in the views and try to smile when it hurts.

5. What motivates you to run in bad weather?
The fact that less people will be on the promenade getting in my way and the thought of the nice hot shower afterwards!

6. What make/model of running shoes do you normally train in?
ASICS Kayano.

7. How many miles did you run last week?
None as I currently have an injury - boo, hoo.

8. What is your favourite racing distance?
8K

9. What is you favourite training location?
Barna road and the promenade.

10. What is your favourite piece of running gear?
My ASICS running shoes.

11. What is your favourite pre-race food/drink?
Pasta and chicken a few hours before if race on late or if early race, just porridge and plenty of water.

12. What is your favourite post-race food/drink?
The tea, biccies and bananas.

13. How much money did you spend on your last pair of running shoes?
€112.

14. In ten years time will you still be running?
Yes, God willing.

15. Have you ever been bitten by a dog while running?
Nope... but I have been while cycling!

16. What is your most embarrassing running-related moment?
None to date unless you include poor race finish times.

17. Who would you nominate for an Irish Athletics Hall of Fame, and why?
Sonia O’Sullivan... girl power.

18. What other sports do you participate in besides running?
Swimming, cycling, occasional bad wind-surfing and hiking.

19. What is your best ever running performance?
Not sure but probably the Streets of Galway 8K in 2009.

20. What is your worst ever running performance?
My first ever 5K finishing in around 37 minutes but hey, it’s all relative!

21. What is the strangest thing you have seen while out on a training run?
Can’t remember any strange experiences as such... must need to be running for longer or to be training in dodgy neighbourhoods perhaps!
