Galway athletes in good company in Edinburgh

Congratulations to Gary Thornton, GCH, and Paul McNamara, Athenry, who competed on the Irish team at the World Cross Country Championships in Edinburgh earlier today. The race was won in style by Kenenisa Bekele, who recovered from an unscheduled stop to fix a shoe, to win an unprecedented 6th World Cross Country Long Course title. The Irish team was led home by Andrew Ledwith, followed by Paul Mc Namara, Mick Clohissey, Brian Maher and Gary Thornton. Alistair Cragg and Vincent Mulvey did not finish.
