Pauline Curley after 2007 Streets
Congratulations from all at the Streets of Galway to Tullamore Harriers athlete Pauline Curley who was last Sunday night added to the Irish team for the Olympics in Beijing. She was selected to compete in the marathon, having achieved the Olympic 'B' Standard after running a time of 2hr39.01 at the Rotterdam marathon last April. She was only 2 mins off the 'A' Standard of 2hr37 and well inside the 'B' time of 2hr42.

Pauline regularly competes in the Streets of Galway in August and has won the women's race on four previous occasions - 2000, 2002, 2003 and 2005. She was second last year to former Olympian Rosemary Ryan, after competing for her club Tullamore Harriers in the National League finals held at Tullamore track earlier the same day.

This year's Future Streets of Galway is on 09/08/08 - one day after the start of the Olympics on 08/08/08. The women's marathon is on Sunday 17th August. Go neiri lei!
