Submitted by mel on Tue, 2007-08-14 12:31.The 2007 FUTURE Streets of Galway 8k Road Race took place on Saturday evening last from Southpark in the Claddagh. This was the 22nd running of the race which is now one of the most popular road races in the country, ranking alongside such events as the Ballycotton 10 and the Adidas Irish Runner Race Series in the Phoenix Park. This year, the organisers Galway City Harriers had received over 2000 entries before the closing date. After heavy rain all day, the skies cleared just ten minutes before the off, to a collective sigh of relief from the participants and organisers alike.

Final Information for 2007 FUTURE Streets of Galway Participants
Submitted by mel on Fri, 2007-08-10 00:06.Good luck to all the competitors in this year's FUTURE Streets of Galway. Please note the following points to help ensure everybody has a good race.
- Absolutely no entries will be taken on the night.
- Please obey the instructions of Gardai and race marshalls before, during and after the race.
- Give yourself plenty of time to get to the start in South Park as traffic and parking restrictions will make it difficult to drive close to the Claddagh. Aim to be there before 6:30pm.
- Pin your race number on your front, not on your back.
- Do not leave car keys, mobile phones, wallets or other valuables in the changing rooms.
- All competitors should move to the starting zone at the West end (Salthill direction) of Claddagh Park at 7pm.
- Keep moving when you cross the finish line until you have received your T-shirt and water.
Race results will be published on this website three or four days after the race is complete. And one final reminder: we cannot take any entries on the night.
